About Me
Write 5–8 concise sentences describing:
-
I am a researcher working at the interface of geotechnical engineering, granular physics and fluid mechanics. I took my Bachelors degree at Hunan University, then MSc and PhD at Univerisity of Sheffield, UK. After graduation I returned to China and joined IMHE, CAS as a Research Assistant.
-
My research is focused on understanding, thereby quantifying, the particulate processes that lead to rapid landslides and debris flows, particularly by investigating the dynamical and rheological behaviours of multiphase granular media through material change at the fluid-particle level.
-
My main methodological approaches include physical modelling and experiments, with the development of new equipment and the application of new technologies.
-
My experimental work on dry and wet granular materials has contributed to the continuous transition of pore fluid pressure in sheared granular flows, the role of pre fluid in resistance reduction and flow dilatancy, and the rheological modelling of solid-fluid granular flows.
